For the past couple of years I have been pondering the idea of getting into slacklining. This has brought on multiple questions like "am I getting to old for this sort of thing?" and because of that do I want to dedicate my time to such an endeavor? Do I have the balance? All these questions circling the one big question, " Do I have it in me to push forward and try it despite the outcome"?
It has been this thought pattern that has lead me astray from so many great opportunities in life and it is this reason I want to make the change. I look back over the time period since Two4adventure began and all the great opportunities we have had, obstacles we have overcome and it's because we have had the confidence to go ahead and do it, leaning on each other for support. Why should this be any different you ask? Most of our adventures we had done with the intentions of moving on to another but in this instance, it is something I really want to be deep rooted in. I think that is what scares me most, failing at something I want to be a part of do badly. So before we move forward let's recap the adventures myself and Wayne have been on:

-Stand Up Paddleboarding
-Hiking Mountains in the Maritimes
-Caving a.k.a spelunking
-Packrafting

These are only adventures we have been on since joining together for our Two4adventure journey. Looking at these I can say as fun as they were and are, I am not really feeling a strong connection with these activities. I will however always be rooted in Hiking and Canoeing for the rest of my days, so the Mountain adventures would have been the highlight of our accomplishments so far.
So where am I going with this? There will always be new adventures for Wayne and I to go on. Some will be better than others but slacklining is something that in my heart, I want to work out and be able progress in it. Ever since watching videos of Andy Lewis "Sketchy Andy" a.k.a Skandy and Dean Potter I became enthralled with the history and community of slacklining and climbing. There is a Zen like component to both climbing and slacklining, a mental focus and and an art form. I have also discussed this with Wayne recently and we have agreed to incorporate this as one of the adventures on our list. With this being said preparations are being made for the long term. I am going to prove to my self that you can teach old dog's new tricks! Hit the ground running and take this to a new level for me and enjoy the experience with Wayne along the way. Who knows where this adventure will go, but without starting it in the first place I will never know.
Until next time, adventure awaits!
